COVID-19 Update

TAX SEASON SERVICES OFFERED

To do our part in keeping our community safe from COVID-19, we are providing these safe options for your professional tax preparation this year. Please select the option, or a combination thereof, that works best for you:  

  1. Online, Completely Contactless -  Utilize your secure Client Portal to upload documents.  Then a staff member will contact you via telephone when the work begins.  When work is completed, a staff member will contact you to review the work.  All signing of documents and payments can be completed through your Client Portal.  (If you do not have a Client Portal established, please call the office at 301-714-2071 for set up.  Click HERE for brief overview of online option.)
  2. Lobby Drop-Off and Pick-Up - Drop off or pick up documents from our receptionist during business hours. This is limited to only dropping off documents to the receptionist, signing paperwork, picking up documents, and making a payment. All other requests require a scheduled appointment. 
  3. Scheduled Appointment - All appointments will be scheduled over Zoom or via telephone.Tax return preparation will not be conducted face-to-face.  Please call the office at 301-714-2071 to schedule a Zoom or telephone appointment. 

Face-coverings must be worn for all in-person visits as required by the state of Maryland.  In addition, if you are experiencing any signs of illness, please postpone your visit or re-schedule your appointment.

UPDATE TO CLIENT SERVICES:

We are pleased to announce that we are now accepting in-person drop offs and pick ups by appointment only and face coverings are required. 

We are also offering ZOOM video appointments and telephone appointments so that you can meet with your tax/accounting professional.

Economic Impact Payment

For those who don't normally need to file a tax return, the IRS has a web tool allowing quick registration for the Economic Impact Payment:  Web Tool

If you are not a dependant on someone else's return and are not receiving Social Security Benefits, but need help with registering for the Economic Impact Payment, IRS has reached out to us with instructions on how to process these returns.  We can help get your registered with your "simple return" for $99.  Call {telephone} for more information information.

At Saunders Tax & Accounting, Inc. the health and safety of our office staff and clients are our top priority. With the COVID-19 virus having an increasing impact in our community, we want to let you know how our business is addressing this situation.  

According to Maryland's COVID-19-04 announced on 3/23/20 under the "Financial Services Sector" our office is permitted to remain open.  However, we are taking additional measures to ensure safety.

Here are the proactive steps we have put in place:

  1. Our office is currently open for telephone and virtual appointments only.  Please call us at 301-714-2071 to schedule a phone or zoom tele-conference appointment.  (No face-to-face appointments.)
  2. We are currently open Mon-Fri 9 am to 9 pm and Sat 9 am to 3 pm.  However, we are reducing our staff coverage at any given time to maintain proper social distancing.
  3. To accommodate any concerns our clients and staff may have, we have taken the following additional steps:
    • We have increased the cleaning and sanitation of our offices.
    • We have added additional alcohol-based sanitizer stations.
    • We informed our staff if anyone is feeling ill (fever or cough), they need to stay home.

To submit documents to us, please consider one of the following options:

  1. Use our secure Client Portal accessible at www. SaundersTax.com.  From the Client Portal, you can upload tax documents, sign your tax return and even retrieve and print copies of your tax return, all from the comfort of your home.  (Use this link for a video on how to Upload Your Tax Documents and also click on the HELP button adjacent to the CLIENT PORTAL button for other assistance with the portal.)
  2. Fax your documents to us at 240-291-3038.
  3. Mail your documents to us at 18710 Crestwood Drive, Hagerstown, MD 21742
  4. Last option is to drop off your documents at our front desk.  If you are experiencing ANY signs of illness, please do not use this option.
